Author's Notes

Life keeps getting better!  It's been a while since I've updated.  In the last 6 months we have walked for Be The Match, appeared in Woman's Day Magazine's May issue and met Drew's donor!!  Here is a link to the article:

We have more publicity coming soon!  All the better to give back with!  I still have high reaching dreams of what I'd like to do with proceeds of my book.  The article's reach has helped tremendously!

Some very exciting news for us!  Drew and I have been invited to the LA Hope Steps & A Cure 5K/Walk in April!  This walk is a campaign to benefit the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation.  I'm so excited to be part of this event to raise awareness, share hope and give back!
Drew and I had an amazing experience at Catholic TV on November 29th, 2009!  Much gratitude to Bonnie Rodgers, Jay Fadden and Fr. Reed for their warm welcome and opportunity to share Drew's story, spread awareness and promote the bone marrow registry!  Most importantly, share HOPE!!

Exciting news!  Drew is going to be interviewed by WEEI at the New England Sports Network's (NESN) annual Radio-A-Thon for the Jimmy Fund at Fenway Park on August 27th about 2 pm!!  Tune in and listen!!

Even more busy the last couple months.  There are several media profiles in process for "Anatomy of a Miracle, Drew's Story".  In addition to today's Nashua Telegraph front page article, there are releases coming from Dana Farber Cancer Institute and 2 major national magazines are reviewing Drew's story too!  I'm so grateful to the AA world for helping me share Drew's story.  I've given my first official donation to NH Make A Wish through Rich Sparks' Vertical challenge in February.  I hope to be giving more soon!
So busy the last few months!  My book continues to sell and everyday I receive messages, emails or postings from people all over the world!  Recently I heard from a 3 year survivor and 2 newly diagnosed families.  It would bring me great joy to know that Drew's story inspires hope as they continue on their journey.  Each book sold is another dollar closer to giving back!!  Thank you!!  You can also follow us on Facebook at "Anatomy of a Miracle, Drew's Story."

October 7, 2012.  The book has been released for about 5 weeks now and I'm so humbled by the response to it!  I have 2 book signings (working on a 3rd) scheduled.  One on November 3rd at Toadstool in Milford from 11 am  - 1 pm, and another one at Barnes & Noble  in Nashua on November 18th from 1-3 pm.  I spoke about our journey at the Joe Andruzzi Foundation's launch party for their new branding with their media firm Digitas.  So much has happened in just a few weeks and I'm so grateful.  My Facebook support page for Aplastic Anemia has grown exponentially since it's founding and connecting all these families gives me so much joy.  There is an AA&MDS International Foundation fundraiser in NJ this month and they are auctioning off a couple copies of my book.  I hope someone bids on them!  Stay tuned for more events!  Thank you so much!

  • It's August 30th and I've received my author's copy of the paperback version of "Anatomy of a Miracle."  It's even more perfect than I could have imagined! Most importantly, Drew has reviewed it and approved! This is the cover:

  • I have a meeting with Jennifer St. Peter of Be The Match on September 13th to discuss Drew's image and story being used in their next campaign, and the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation has an article that I wrote at their request pending for the October newsletter and website. Additionally, I have articles pending with the Nashua Telegraph and Milford Cabinet. Children's Hospital Boston will have the book in their gift shop and The Jimmy Fund will be spotlighting it in their bone marrow/stem cell transplant newsletter as well.  Special thanks to Laurie Holbrook for helping me with this website!

  • Yesterday, Drew started 8th grade! So much to celebrate!
